How can I tell if my poultry is freezer burned?
White dried patches indicate freezer burn. When poultry has been stored in the freezer for an extended period of time or has not been wrapped properly, this will occur. The product remains safe to eat, but the areas with freezer burn will be dried out and tasteless. These patches can be trimmed away if desired. Freezer burn could also happen if a product has been frozen, thawed and refrozen.
